The WARP portable is a mobile, radar-based handheld measuring device for punctual wall thickness measurement, specially designed for medium and large pipe extrusion as well as for sheets.
The possible applications are very flexible, whether as a quick centring aid in the start-up process, for final inspection of production or as a bearing inspection device. Not only can the wall thicknesses of pipe ends be measured, but also the course inside a pipe section or a plate.
The measurement itself is carried out at the touch of a button. The last 100 measured values are saved, including the measuring angle on the pipe and the time stamp.
Advantages:
- Hand-held measuring device for wall thicknesses from 5 to 110 mm (depending on material)
- Measured value memory including measuring position on the pipe (last 100 measured values)
- Intuitive handling
- Splash-proof housing (IP54)
The battery-operated hand-held device has been specially designed for the needs of medium and large pipe extrusion. The modern ergonomic design offers maximum user comfort. An interchangeable centring aid for large and medium pipe dimensions round off the ease of use. Even planar surfaces, such as plastic sheets, can be measured to an accuracy of 50 µm from a wall thickness of 6 mm simply by pressing a button. The LED ring around the push button is used as a status display and provides feedback on the measurement quality.
Simple and intuitive operation takes place directly in the WARP portable via a capacitive touch display with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. After a measurement has been taken, the display immediately shows the wall thickness and, when measuring through the pipe cross-section, both wall thicknesses as well as the inner and outer diameter. A special option is that the measuring angle, i.e. the pipe position, as well as the date and time are also logged thanks to two integrated acceleration sensors. Only the processed material needs to be specified for recipe handling. Configuration is carried out via a separate configuration screen. Here it is possible to establish a WIFI connection to transfer stored measured values to a PC. Measured values can also be transferred via the integrated USB interface. Furthermore, it is possible to switch between metric and imperial units.
The WARP portable uses a modern nickel-metal hydride rechargeable battery with a capacity of several hours of continuous measurement. This provides the operator with up to 10 hours of operating time. With protection class IP 54, the WARP portable is well protected against water and dust in industrial environments.
